Subs keep cutting out?

I have a JBL Grand Touring 600.1 amp and 2 10 JLw3v3s. Gain is up about halfway and, for some reason, once my bass gets relatively loud, my subs cut out. They come back on after a second or two, but keep cutting out. It had to be extremely loud before for it to happen, but it seems to be getting worse. I've been told it could be the wires are too small, but I've used these wires with this amp before and didn't have this problem. It's really starting to frustrate me that I can't get the use out of my subs that I want and I have high hopes that you guys have a solution for me!

If it is a 2 ohm load in the amp you should be good there. I would check your wiring. Look for the bare wire ends almost touching. Check at the amp. Connection to the box, box input to the subs and at the subs. If you have a dmm check the ohms on each sub and at the amp. What size wiring are you running from the battery and is your ground in a solid spot filed or sanded down to metal?

I'm using 8 gauge, I believe. I have it grounded to a bolt on the metal of the driver's seat. It may be that my ground isn't good enough, I suppose

Did you clean and sand the area? Or just lift the bolt and put it down? If you didn't sand it chances are you're just grounding through the threads. You need a good ground. I don't know what 8 gauge is good too, I always go big lol. Ground may very well be your problem

You want the ground, grounded to the floorpan under the seat and bolt. If you have to use that spot, lift the seat up and sand the paint off. Put your ground down, put the seat back down and bolt it. Should be a decent ground for that much power

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...
