Because CAPS help the amps provide better power to the sound systems, the battery provides power the electrical of the car.
WB
so your saying that the battery powers up the eletrical of the car and not the sound system?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

that is just bulllshittt so people could buy worthless caps

X2 i remember this kid i use to know put a cap on his sony sub he bought from walmart b/c he thought it made it louder. i was like //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

lmaooooo!

lmaooooo!

even better was when the same kid got rid of that he bought three 10in kicker

L5s in some ghetto ass box from some sound place around here, and the port was a round hole on the bottom of the box. it was about 3 inches in diameter:wow:

I came here to learn about this "cap as filter" theory for SQ, but all I keep reading is this moron saying that my audio system doesn't work because it's running off of a battery and not a cap.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

who the f would do such a port lmaoooo wow

A cap is charge in the begining form the battery with out the car started so therfore it gets it's charge from the battery and recharges from the battery .
What?

Why are you sounding like you never graduated eighth grade. If your IGNORANT CLOWNISH FOOLISH self would have taken 2 minutes to read a few of my post or just went to check my pics, you would know I have the cap with the amp and voltage read out and YES the voltage drains on MINE for a few seconds and returns to 14.5 volts, but on your SET UP ! I don't have a clew what is going on ! so don't compare your silly situation to mine unless you have the same exact set up !!!!!!!!!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gifWB
You don't have a CLEW and you're as dumb as a shrew.

What if you decide to suddenly turn a dome light on? Or the air? Wouldn't a cap in that case be better than a battery? (

I've found this thread very entertaining. This guy just keeps going and going. I used a cap once in the first car I bought. It didn't seem to do anything to help my dimming issues. I was only running a sub amp at the time. This "filter" thing sounds interesting. I have one last "noise" problem coming from my mids/highs thats either a blown fuse resistor thing in my HU... or something else.

You are really missing some bolts and nuts. The way the CAP is designed is it has an positive input from the battery and a postive output to the amp. Once charged the positive can't flow backwards to the battery or the electrical appliances due to the circuitry of the CAP.WB
So a cap has no negative... just two positives? Lawl.

I realize my post is extremely pointless. This dude is a ****ing smug ass meat waxer though. Not a big deal to me *WPSHHHHHH!!!!!!*.

This article is older than about 90% of the member base here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif But it explains and trouble shoots noise pretty good for 12v applications.

http://www.quest4.org/radio/reducing_noise_interference.htm

In my car the noise I have is an ignition based. I have replaced all spark plugs and wires, coil, distributor, pretty much the entire ignition system, and I still had the buzzing. So it was suggested to me to take a 2200 uF capacitor, and wire it from the positive of the ignition coil, to negative chassis ground. Poof the sound was gone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
