voltage drop!

Run a ground wire front to back , 4 gauge at least.
Thats not going to help you. If you have a good ground at the front Battery and a good ground in the rear then that should take care of it. If you wanna go an spend the money on another run of 0 ga wire to run as a ground then by all means, go for it, but it's not going to help you. I added a run of 0/1 ga from my front batt to my rear batt and it made no difference on daily, I did see a slight db gain, but thats not what your looking for.

need a better alt pm me if you want a high output alt i feel bad the lowest voltage i see at the amp full tilt at 3600 clamped rms is 13.2

definitely user error. I put a bluetop in a civic (stock batt up front) with a 90amp alt w. big three and am running a aq2200 without it dropping below 13 at full tilt(amp was clamped @ 2095watts @ 50hz). Something must be wrong in the install.

My Jimmys voltage gauge will drop from just over 14 to about 1/4 of the way from the bottom and bounce when I am in reverse with nothing on except the DRLs. When this happens all my lights dim but I dont have any loss of power. When i accelerate the gauge returns to about 14. When Im stopped at a light the gauge drops again and bounces. Its worse when I have the rear defroster on or the vents on 4. It only seems to drop at low RPM.

I replaced the battery about 2 months ago and the alternator about 6-9 months ago.

I checked the grounds batt to engine, engine to chassis, chassis to batt and all of them were fine. Does anyone know what could be causing this to happen?

if you are relying on your factory guage thats the 1st problem they are not accurate to begin with my chevy guage sits at 11 volts on full tilt but at the amp i have 13.8 test at the amp not the guage! if that still shows a drop u fvcked up sumwhere or the batt/alt is shitt

I've experienced this too. Not sure the exact cause...

1) Do your headlights dim too? Or is it just the interior and gauges?

2) Is your amp ground connected closely to your frame rails, or is does it go through any thin paneling?
