I'm need to know what gauge the internal wiring should be for my subs when I put them in their box. Each sub is rated at 200w RMS and 400w peak. Also, I might get more powerful speakers later on and I need a wire gauge that can accommodate the increased wattage going through it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hiya bud,

Just my $0.02 ....

Use as thick cable as you can lay your hands on.

It won't make them sound any louder or better but it will look great - and in most car audio circles looks count for a lot !

Seriously though, 2.5mm cable is plenty for that kind of power, but bigger is always better !

I have seen guys using 0 gauge cable to wire up speakers running with less than 25w RMS !

Later,

The stressed one...
