whats the first couple ALARM systems that come to mind?

I was going to give you the same suggestion that TireFryr did - the Prestige 996 is a very solid alarm. The Viper 871 (I think?) seems to gather continuously good reviews...

CompuStar is definately a good system - but depending on local availability can be rather pricey...
