Wiring 6 Wire Harness to 8 Wire Harness

Im wondering if I can split the black wire on each side of the old unit (6 wire) into 2 wires. Then splice the 2 new ends into the positives on each side.

For example, on the left side I would splice as follows

6 wire / 8 wire

Green to White

Black(end 1) to White w. Black Stripe

Yellow to Green

Black(end 2) to Green w. Black Stripe

Does this make sense? Can the black wire on each side of the 6 wire harness be split into two, essentially making it an 8 wire harness?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

you have to have a pair of wires runnin to each speaker. are running those is series now. you can find the wire that runs from the front speaker to the back speaker you could cut and splice you wires there. otherwise you might have to rewire.

My brain hurts just looking at those diagrams. It's late so if anyone sees a problem with either of those, please feel free to chime in!

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.
