I installed 2 Polk db651's (coaxial's) and 2 Powerbass tweeters up front and 2 Polk db651's in the rear on my stock system in my 2010 Civic. Now I am looking to wire them up to a 5 channel amp and I want to make sure I do it right. These are the specs for the amp and the speakers;
Amp
Kicker ZX700.5
Specs
AMP1 & AMP2 channels driven
@ 14.4V, 4Ω stereo, 1% THD+N, 70W x 4
@ 14.4V, 2Ω stereo, 1% THD+N, 85W x 4
@ 14.4V, 4Ω mono, 1% THD+N, 165W x 2
SUBWOOFER channel driven
@ 14.4V, 4Ω mono, 1% THD+N, 210W x 1
@ 14.4V, 2Ω mono, 1% THD+N, 420W x 1
Speakers
6.5” Polk DB651 in the front doors and the rear deck
Specs
Nominal Impedance: 4Ω
Power range: 6-60 watts RMS (180 watts peak power)
Frequency response: 35-22,000 Hz
Sensitivity: 92 dB
Tweeters
Powerbass S-1S
Specs
Power Handling (RMS/Peak): 50 / 100 watts
Nominal Impedance: 4Ω
Frequency Response: 3.5kHz-21kHz
Sensitivity (1W / 1M): 92dB
Capacitor value in the inline passive crossover : 5.6 uF
(Has a 0.2 mH iron core coil incorporated to create a 12 dB octave slope rolling on @ 2000 Hz and up.)
I got a harness to bypass the small stock amp and this is the way I plan on wiring it to the Kicker 5 channel.
Amp 1
L+ -Left front speaker + and tweeter +
L- - Left front speaker - and tweeter –
R+ - Right front speaker + and tweeter +
R- - Right front speaker - and tweeter –
Amp 2
L+ -Left rear speaker +
L- - Left rear speaker -
R+ - Right rear speaker +
R- - Right rear speaker -
Would the combination of putting the wires for the tweeters and coaxials on Amp 1 be a issue and damage the amp?
Would it change the impeadance to lower than 4 ohms?
Thanks for your time.
