just buying an adapter for my 5.25" mounting holes and using 6.5" speakers?

It seems that there are 10x more 6.5" speakers floating around the classified section. Im about too replace my JL C2's in the front, im not very happy with them, just dont get loud enough. Picked them up for $60 shipped a while back, so it seemed worth it at the time.

how much are the adapters? u got some scrap wood u could just make ur own

i would say it depends on the $ but more cone area, most 6.5s are better than 5.25s, which is also why u see more, its more common.

do u have an amp on them? because ive only heard a few setups with amped components and its almost impossible to not be loud enough

Yes, as long as mounting depth isn't an issue. Most 6.5s aren't too much deeper if they're any deeper than the 5.25 counterpart, but some are.

My C2's are running off of a alpine MRP-F250, and they are coaxial. My next pair will be a component, I had a pair of Diamond audio D3's last summer but blew the right side by over powering them -_-;

which is fine though, they had aluminum tweeters, wasnt very fond of she shrill sound they produced. I will be most like picking something at random off of the classified section here between $100-200. I like trying new things, im still pretty new too car audio.

dang idk how they werent loud enough for u besides being coaxial i guess. i got components, 1" tweeters, even with a 15" sub 1200 watts ported right behind my seat stupid tweeters are still retarded loud underpowered.

guess u need to go 6.5 components then

ive got a single 15" w3v2. maybe i need too deaden my doors, but i have troubles getting the vocals on rap loud enough too keep up with my substage. Its deffinatly a work in progress, il be trying a few diffrent aproaches once it gets warm enough outside too work on my car

single channels on my fronts.

getting some 6x9's that i will run off of channel 3+4 while i save up for new front speakers.
