It's been over a year now and everything is still working perfectly. The amp survived summer 08 (110+ air temps ~140 degrees inside my truck). The fast turn on still bothers me. Listening to the tweeters and sub for seven seconds is weird.
There is protection circuitry according to DIYMA, but...
Another option is teathering the subbox to the babyseat anchor (or similar) with steel cable. It won't be as secure a bolted to the floor but atleast the box won't kill anyone. A quick disconnect will allow tool-less removal.
good is subjective, but i am happy with my older version of those (system 240 MKII). The more power they get the better. There is always another tier of performance but those are generally considered towards the top.
united radio will fix it. Iirc it's about a $100 minimum including shipping both ways. I didn't have mine fixed so I dunno if it will be more than that.
.6 volts at the remote line is the problem. It should be 12 when the radio is on. To check you can temporarily jump the positive power terminal over the the rem line just to see if it turns on
higher voltage means you can run a lower gain setting on your amp. If you don't have noise issues with 3v (for example) you won't notice a difference at 8v.
