doubtful, but if you do put a L pad on iti just installed a bunch of intercom speakers at work and the way i had to wire them, one was forced to be wired to receive 4 watts while all the others were seeing 2 watts. this is in a fairly large room with over 10 speakers total and i figured it wouldn't be much of a problem...
so, how perceivable is 3dbs? do you think the one speaker will stand out?

The inner ear has a 50 dB dynamic range, but, as stated we can hear over a 120 dB range in intensity. This is because the ear will compress to protect on a 4:1 ratio. It will only let so much in as SPL increases, basically.Would you think eventually doubling the power would 'hit a wall' in terms of actually getting twice as loud?..
