6.5s in a jeep?

i wanna toss my pair of alpine spr 60-cs in my dads jeep (2006 Grand cher) since they are just laying around. but i see that the speaker size is 6x9? however crutchfield syas 6.5s work and im wondering if i do that what adapter will i need? just a 6x9 to 6.5? and if i snagged the harnesses of crutchfield, would that work since these are a component set ?

They probably sell an adapter that fills the 6X9 hole and has the appropriate round hole for your 6" driver.   Poke around Crutchfield site and if the part exists you should find it.  Otherwise with some plywood or MDF and a jigsaw you can just cut your own.

i will advise you that the 6x9 door location only plays up to about 250hz, throwin a 6.5 in there will be a downgrade compared to stock 6x9 (6x9 is fairly close to an 8" cone area).......i have an 09, pretty sure factory crossovers are in the same range....dont use the tweeters if you do(will do nothing unless you rewire for full range)

good to know ! i do know later down the road (probably next summer) he plans on tossing an amp on them... he doesnt care for bass , just quality sound, and his stock one blew.... sounds like crumbled paper haha
