AQ 4 Inch Coil Test Results With PICS

So I had the chance to do a head to head test between a brand new 18 HDC3 with the 3 inch coil and 18 HDC4 with the 4 inch coil. Both subs were broke in for about a week on music and tones. The box used was 5 cubes with a 12 inch aeroport. Sub up and port back. Car was a 1989 Civic Hatchback with full interior. Mic was on dash in legal position.

1st number is score, second number is clamped wattage.

As for music, These will do just fine. If you will notice the 4 inch coil was louder than the 3 Inch from the low wattage end and just kept pulling away each step up in power. In our music box which was 8 cubes and tuned to 36 hz with a massive aeroport, it sounded SICK.

This test wasnt to see how loud we could get one, just doing a direct comparison in a car that we threw the box in last night.

The 15 Inch cone is yellow and the 18 was black. Not sure what he is going to go with.

Pretty sure a 5 HP motor for what DJ is going to be selling them for, will be impressive. But thats ok. Everyone has an opinion.
