I’m not to knowledgeable on OHM specifications. I currently have a JL Audio JX500/1d and either want to go with a 10w6 or 10w7. Which subwoofer is the best fit? Or should I consider another Subwoofer? Thanks!
1000W will destroy that W6 very quickly. Thanks everyone for the pointers. Update: I’ve settle on the 10w6. It’s actually the HO110-W6v3. Sounds great with jx500/1d. The amp is rated at 500 watts in 2 ohms and the sub is 600 rms at 2 ohms. Now aiming to upgrade to the jx1000/1d. Thanks again!
So, should I just keep the jx500/1d? Is it even worth upgrading to meet the 600 rms?1000W will destroy that W6 very quickly.
jl is very underrated they usually put out more than what they say and the subs can handle more than what they say, i personally would think its a good move if ur trynna get the 1000/1 but jus b cautious about the coil smell and the distortion, jus keep it at prolly 1/4 - 1/2 of the way up on the gainSo, should I just keep the jx500/1d? Is it even worth upgrading to meet the 600 rms?
I would not put a 1000W amp against a W6 at all. The W7 is a 1000W sub, the W6 is a 500W sub. If you're lacking output you may gain more from a bigger/better/ported box anyway. Pics of the box as it sits? So, should I just keep the jx500/1d? Is it even worth upgrading to meet the 600 rms?
Should be decent then. Still though, just moving aiming/position in the vehicle may make a more dramatic difference than trying to throw more power at a woofer that's already being pushed pretty hard.Looks like he has the High Output box from JL. I’ve heard really good things about the boxes.
NoIs a 100 watts even worth upgrading the amp to get the 600 rms?
