my silence is deadly...
My phone was broken so I did not get any "as it gets built" pics.

I just finished the carpet today but here are some pics.

.75 cuft, 14" of port tuned to 42hz.

You may notice the 4 screws around the woofer, they are for an optional loading wall.

Thanks

That's high tuning. What made you want to tune so high? Comps? And that is a sexy looking 8" right there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

DD recommends 40hz tuning for the 1508...so really not that high.

I know what DD recommends, I have designed a few boxes you know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I just don't like them tuned that high for music. If your cars res. freq. is in the mid to high 40's, I bet that'll be a loud 8.

I actually built that box a month ago. I used it in my truck on one of the amps in my sig.

It would play down to 35ish just fine but the tuning is for a little extra umph at my peak.(45-46hz)

I built this to prove a point to a guy at work that swears his 10w7 is louder than any 8" there is(you know how the story goes..)

IIRC, his box for the w7 is tuned to 40hz and is 1.6cuft IIRC.

Lets just say that at lunch time we had a small crowd of fellow co-workers around and I PROVED my point!

The majority of the group agreed that the 1508 sounded a little better as well.

The kicker of it was, I let him demo first and then I went. I set off 3 car alarms that we were both parked next to....

Dont get me wrong, I do like JL but people just need to be reasonable when they make a statement like that;)

On 1045 watts clamped, it was:crazy:

It took 3 15 + second burps like a champ!

Did get a tad warm tho...

(had hella box rise at 45hz, iirc like 3 ohms)
