Will XXX's work in sealed boxes? Of course. They will have very good Sound Quality and still get really loud.

If all you have is 1.5 cubes/driver, build your box as big as possible. I have heard them in a 1.7 cu.ft sealed enclosure and they sounded fine to me.

Another option, if you hear otherwise that the box wont be sufficient, its to switch divers which need less airspace to operate in.
