Budget Mono Amp Help!

Budget is 175.00 MAX.

Looking at either Audiopipe AP15001D or Audiopipe APSM 1500... seems to be the best I can do in my price range.

Which would be preferred? Or is there something else in that price range I should be looking at?

What is that old saying? Champagne taste on a beer budget?

If I had the money I'd be running DD or MMATS, but unfortunately I don't have that kind of scratch these days.

From what I've seen the Audiopipes seem to clamp close to rated, and put out clean power as long as they aren't pushed into clipping. I'll be more than happy with 1200 unclipped watts. I'd sure hate to get a DOA or a dud, but that's what the warranty is for. The only real downside seems to be that they are pretty inefficient.

Not arguing that Audiopipe is the best, just thinking it's the best I can do on a very limited budget.

Every once in a while PPI P1000.1 and Soundstream TN1.1200D go on sale for like $179, shipped. These are the same amplifier inside. You should get about 1000watts RMS at 2ohm or 1200 at 1ohm.

I have never had a problem with my MB Quart ONX1.1500D over the last year...definitly pushes 1500W at 1ohm...never once felt it get hot either....

Concept cd1210 on ebay. 120 shipped. Says 1200 rms at 1ohm. It has 4x40 amp fuses. I've had the smaller version and it was good for the $$

The boss lady gave me the go-ahead to up the budget a hair... I'm going with a Precision Power BK1300.1D.

get the apsm 2000d 169.00 and turn the gain down... to where it is clean....
