Hello,
I was told that if I am building a system for the purpose of sound quality competition, I should stay away from class D amplifiers for the subs. I was told that they sacrifice sound quality to achieve their high efficiencies and that they have high distortion and were created exclusively for SPL competitions in which sound quality is not a factor.
Is there any truth to this? How much worse is the sound quality of a class D amp as opposed to a regular amp at the same wattage? Anybody have any comments on this from personal experience or anything?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
