Do I need OFC for my setup

Looking at some big 3 upgrade kits I see some at sonice electronix and wondering if i would be fine with the $39 one for my system. At most I will have between 1800 to 2100 total watts. Doing the figures for Amperage that's either 260 amps or 304 because its i'm either going with a 1200W sub amp or a 1500w and for Hi's either around 360rms watts 4 channel or 600rms watts total. Non competition car, just want a nice stereo system. I will be running 1 gauge from the battery and 4 gauge for the grounds. The grounds will be 1-2 feet at most, more than likely more around 1 1 1/2. Just reading some thread where guys were asking if they needed OFC wiring and just don't want to spend that extran if not needed for what I wana do.

thanks

OFC now so if you upgrade, you won't have to bother upgrading it. I said I wouldn't upgrade after what I did, but I am probably doubling my power and am having to replace some wire. Do it right the first time.

CCA will be completely fine man. I personally know people with close to 10k setups and only use CCA. My last setup was 4k and I only used CCA, had it for about a year and not one problem

nah man to be honest I think what I'm doing right now is a bit much but I'm willing to go ahead and do pretty much one last system in the stang. If anything needs replacing one day I can see replacing but power wise that's going to be it. I was cool with the around 600w I've been running since 97 til Dec last year though I never had my Hi's correct and a good Hi's amp. Now I will make sure my system is setup properly and get everything fine tuned but that's as much power as I want, especially sub wise. Mustang doesn't have much room anyway. Only thing I might do , just might but doubt it on down the road one day is maybe put instead of 1 6 1/2 in front doors, maybe doing a pair and in back deck instead of 1 set of 6x8's, maybe if i blew those 6x8s or something i might put 4 back there but i really really doubt that. Would be nice to have a nice mid/midrange setup but going to what I'm doing now with a tuned and ported box, I'm sure I will have all the midbass I need and hear all of the syllables in songs I've never heard before since 97 in my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

going with more than likely 2 sundown audio 10's

amp either a zapco, soundqubed, or american bass vfl, ( got a few other amps to price as well)

as for Hi's amp probably a matching 4 channel

2 6 1/2 polk audio db 6501

Already have 2 kenwood 6x8 3 ways

Pioneer BT head unit

OFC is only needed if you go really big though. You shuld be fine honestly. But again, I started at 300watts. Now trying to go to 3000.

Are there any wholesale places that you guys know about that has better pricing on the Big 3 kits and the 1 gauge wire? I see sonice electronix has a big 3 for $39 bucks, seems the 1 gauge on ebay as of now might be best way to go unless you guys know of other spots //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i need about 17 ft of 1 gauge
