For my electrical system this go around i'm gonna go with a dual battery setup and a capacitor. i will also install a battery isolator to help with draining both batteries when ignition is off. I'm gonna use 2 Optima yellow tops. Can i get by with a stock alternator or do i need to upgrade. I am driving a 2003 Chevy Avalanche.

capacitors are nearly useless and optima batteries are pretty low quality

But seriously, what does your prospective system even consist of? We need this info to help you out. As for batteries, look into xs power.

If he is using yellow tops I doubt ys is the right thing to push. Id steer him towards a deka or his locql sams club as those cheaper alternatives will do more than the job. xs is overpriced and arent even virgin lead.

I plan to run a DD M3c which puts out about 2400 watts and a DD C5d which puts out about 130 watts x 4. Nothing too elaborate.

Do the big 3 and put the largest AGM you can fit in your battery tray. Check voltage.
