hifonics problems

my hifonics burned a diode. i put a jumper in in place of it hoping that it MIGHT work in its place. it burned my wire. My question is should i get it fixed or should i get another amp. also the board is scratch next to a resistor and i was wondering if that will make my amp go into protection thanks.

 
call a local shop and see what they would charge to fix it?. here they charge about 35.00 to check it out to see if it can be fixed.. and then more depending on what is wrong... so have to take into account of how much you can get a new one for.

Pull it and test it at the battery post. Simple Power up test to verify if it powers up fine out of protect mode. if it does then Id be checking...

Yes, they are painted. The cover is very easy to take off and repaint to whatever color of choice to match the install.
