How much juice would you give CDT HD61's

I'll be throwing an older Kenwood 4 channel on them (60x4 @ 4ohms). They are rated at 170wrms so I know they will be power hungry. How much juice would you put on them given there rms rating? Give me some input so I can give them some output!
well if u double the power and the speakers can mech/therm take that extra power then yes it would be louder.

The kenwood is just temporary until I get a better amp. Let me change the question up a bit. How many watts would you give these components rated at 170rms?

Some say stay on the safe side and do around 100wrms.

You've just stated that you'll be using an amp that outputs 60 to a speaker rated at 170.....??

I don't think that 60WRMS is going to even be enough to give that speaker a chance to sound-off.

Personally, I would set them up for 200WRMS at my max volume, and certainly no less than 170WRMS

I will bridge the four channel until I get a better amp. It will be replaced eventually with a better two channel. So the question was more about the replacement amp not the current one. You say give it what it's rated for, eh? So I'm thinking an amp that does 200wrms @ 4ohms. Looks like I better get searching.

Keep in mind CDT Audio publishes their RMS power ratings with a 120 Hz HPF recommendation. They don't need that much power to get loud and may reach the mechanical limits running rated power with a sub-100 Hz HPF. Give them a chance on your Kenwood amp before you go out and buy more power.
