So what's the point of having a 64bit version of Windows if you can only have 2GB RAM? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

i was going to ask that. is it really 64bit os? should not work on 1g ram. if you flip it over, it will actually say the exact model number on the bottom. there is no "just dv8000" models. there are different models in the 8000 line.

It works good, would be a little faster I think on the 32 bit or windows xp is way faster..

Ok the bottom has this..

product: HP dv8000

S/N: CND5512R7T

p/n: EP406UA#ABA

DV8000 is the model number for sure its on the tag on the back and on the monitor on the front.. lol

under that. right under the bar codes on that tag, it should say "hp service tag" in the first box, and "dv8xxx(cl/ua/us/etc) warranty: xyear/month. if that info is missing, you can do an auto-detect on the hp support site. i think i may just spring for the new envy3d, though. didn't mean to waste your time. thanks.

I am in no hurry to get rid of this laptop lol I might just put Ubuntu on it and give it to my son, I don't need to sell it and it would be super fast with Ubuntu on it even with 1GB of ram, only thing it needs is a battery and that's like $30 or $40 shipped on ebay.. LoL

So no longer for sale just going to keep it closing post.. Thanks guys..
