looking for 155 db

im setting the goal high because it will be my last install ever probably... so i wanna make it loud enough that it will take me years to get used too
You are aware getting used to it is actually just a nice word for hearing damage right? Plus if you've never sat in a car doing 155 you have no idea how stupidly loud that would be, especially on music. Honstely if you can get used even setting in 150 on music and not have it bother you or seem that loud you've really ****ed your hearing up badly anyway. Anyway do a wall, figure out how many cubic feet and baffle space you have and go from there. I'd do at least 4 15's probably six if you can afford it and fit it. Getting high scores on a small amount of equipment can be done, but it requires a high output box which limits the bandwidth you can do it at. 155 at one peak frequency and a 155ish average are two very different things, you want the latter. Plus you'll be able to pound on it and not worry about breaking it that way.

dont forget you will be driving around with 2000+ extra lbs in your ride which is a hazzard to your health. LOL it can be done but it wont be easy at a lower freq.
for a wall in an envoy don't think so.. 60-80lb subs.. x4 240-320lbs wood.. hell I would put it at 400lbs at MOST.. thats a really really sturdy wall..

720 lbs soo far.. hell he would need 10 batts to make the rest of the weight up..

and you think 1 or 2 batts will keep up with 2 3500's daily? I had alot of battery power and a HO alt and my 2 40.s would drop it down to 12.5 doing bassrace at my full volume. also 4 sheets of mdf is not a good wall. 3/4 mdf depending on grade is 80-106lbs each sheet

but you are right I dont think it will be 2000lbs extra but when built right it will be close

one of my team members does 155+ at 32hz... he has a windstar van walled off behind the b pillar with 8 15'' MA audio subs of some kind and 4 Sundown 1500s with a lot of battcaps..

ok that seems logical...and ya i have sat inside a car will a clamshell and 12 12s in it....it was only 4000 watts but it did 150....it was loud for sure.... i guess ill aim for 150 for now but can 150 be done with 4 15s on a 3500d?

my gf's family is in morehead ... I may have to make a trip up there to see that ride.

You better plan on doing something with the rear suspension. I had to bag mine just to drive it. I also weighed the vehicle and it is 1500 lbs over stock curb weight.

It's a Volvo factory amp, so there's a custom wire harness between the head and amp.
