A friend of mine is selling 3 10" subs for quick cash, and I'm trying to decide if I'm interested. I don't know the brand, model number, or any stats on them, but I was hoping someone could give me a very rough price range for the amp required to run 3 10" subs in my car. I know this is vague but I'm just looking for a rough estimate ($50? $500? I have no idea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif).

I have a head unit and they are already boxed so I would think all I need is an amp, correct me if I'm wrong. Not looking to knock down any buildings, just trying to take advantage of a good deal here so I'm probably not going to get the top-of-the-line. He's looking to sell them in the next day or two so I'm just hoping for some quick, rough estimates.

I appreciate it!

You should really try to get model numbers for us. Lots of things to consider such as wattage and impedance. Impedance can change wiring options enough to sway the price of an amp $100 very quickly.

I wish he would give them to me but he's in all-out finals mode and won't go look at them (they are in his frat house off campus). But you accidentally helped me, because that means it could be anywhere around $100 or higher //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I'm getting closer to a rough estimate //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

He said he got them for around $150 and his friend built the enclosure so that ~$150 was for just the subs.

Another reason model numbers would help is to make sure they're worth buying. Unless they're dirt cheap, chances are we can find you better, brand new, for cheaper.

Thanks for the tips, I'm starting to feel like I'm rushing into this because they are so cheap... his plan might be working haha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I'll bug him for more details in the morning, it's a little late to call tonight. Maybe I'll be making a "low- to mid-priced setup for sub(s)" thread in a few days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

It's a Volvo factory amp, so there's a custom wire harness between the head and amp.
