looking for a simple HU like Nakamichi

I want something with a KNOB! Don't need the video screen and all the Bullsh!t. If you've seen the Nak you know what I'm talking about.

The only other things I GOTS to have is a digital time corrector, some high volt pre-outs and XM capable.

Leaning toward Alpine - like the 9830, the Pioneer and Eclipse have got too much going on. Is there some little known high quality brand out there that fits the bill?

Rockford Fosgate's got some "new" ones (old Denon) that are clean like the Nak's.

I have a Nak... wouldn't trade it for anything. It cost a lot, but well woth it. I bought a Roady2 for the XM part using the AUX inputs.

The alpine is a great deck.... i wouldnt tell you not to get it.... i love my deck a lot too....i paid 212 for it installed with dash kit, harness, the whole nine yards... I have a kenwood mp-425

Alpine has kept the knob...I like my 7894, few years old but still works like a charm.

Those RF "Denon" decks are intriguing, as well...what about an old school Sony, like a C90?

i love alpine decks.... i had planned on getting one....then the kenwood i have now went on sale, big time, so i got it instead. Money is and was an issue cause i am 16.

Go with eclipse, clean looking decks that actualy do rated pre out voltage unlike alpine.

it does, i have both head units. the eclipses are plain and simple. i like their attitude when it comes to flashy stuff.

Depends on what Eclipse he is talking about. The most simple, great looking deck I can think of with time correction is the clarion 9255. Other than that, I would certainly go with an Eclipse if I needed time correction. If you didn't think that you needed time correction, I would say the RF 8250 available on sounddomain is the best choice. I run one and love it. I am using sirius with it as well. You just need the extra little control panel.

EClipse....i had the 5423 and now have an AV5101...both very easy to useand very clean and very high preouts ...will never go with a different brand
