Looking for advice

I have a 1969 GMC Pickup that has the factory stereo in it and it doesn't work. I would like to leave it. My question is can I install an amp to run my speakers and use my phone as the head unit. Just want something simple that I can install under the seat so I have some tunes while cruising.

yep sure can, get yourself a stereo jack to rca adapter and have at it
