My current head unit is a sony dsxb700 and i'm really happy with it except for the fact that it's starting to make some static that comes through the subs pretty bad. If i push down on the 3.5mm jack the static stops. If I have my aux cord plugged in I can wiggle it back and forth and the static will start and stop as I wiggle it, so I'm assuming the problem is with the jack. I'm also assuming this is due to heavy vibrations because I didnt have this problem until I upgraded my subs and now my whole dash shakes pretty good with any bass from ~35 hz and down. Problem is thats the type of bass that I love to play lol. For reference I'm doin around the high 140s from 30-45hz, not crazy loud but it does shake everything up pretty good. Does anyone have a recommendation for something that they know can take a beating? I would like to stay around the 200$ price point. I dont want or need anything fancy, I'd prefer no touch screen, don't need a backup camera either. I only use the front and sub output for RCAs. I prefer double din but wouldnt be opposed to a single din. I prefer to use an aux cord over bluetooth but I would like to have the option for either so i can charge my phone while playing music.
Alternatively, does anyone know how hard it would be to repair this headunit? I'm good with soldering and I work in electronics so I'm pretty confident working with electrical circuits and components, just never attempted a headunit repair before.
TIA!
