PROBLEM: Factory head-unit must remain plugged into the car as it controls misc electronic functions of the car. An entirely new audio system (head unit + amps + speakers + wires) will be laid out, essentially overlaying the factory setup.

QUESTION: I wish to install a 2nd head-unit to control the entire audio system. How do I go about attaching and powering the 2nd head-unit, without disabling the factory head-unit?

Is it a simple as "Y-ing" the Yellow/Red/Black wires?

All word of advice are sincerely appreciated.
