I hve fixed several top plates without demagnetizing the motor. It just takes the right sized shims and a hammer. That's the SAME EXACT thing that happened to my 10" SX. RE needs to use some better glue on their top plates. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif
And, guess what? You can't even get a recone for it. The magnet became unglued from the top plate and there is no way to realign it unless you demagnetize it, align it, then remagnetize it again.
How in the world would you get it to stay centered though? If you were to bump it you would be screwed again. I've still got mine sitting in my room under my bed.I hve fixed several top plates without demagnetizing the motor. It just takes the right sized shims and a hammer.
