Opinions; Hertz or Morel

Not really a great comparative. That said, the Morels would be my choice here. If you just want to save money and like metal domes, consider these pioneer's at $99 a pair. They are bass heavy midbass components and very lively mids and highs.

Again, I prefer those Morel comps to these pioneers too. Many players in this price category though. I tend to lean heavily to Morel when talking about their upper end units (hybrids and above) as they have tweeters with the Acuflex coating and thoise tweeters are only found in their higher models. The Acuflex coated silk tweeters are markedly better and really is what one would call the morel signature sound.

For the cost of the Morels, I'd prefer these as I think overall the ES 1200is in the CDT comps is better than any of three mentioned here.

Thanks for replying. I have looked at CDT before but with so many choices and his descriptions were over my head, i just moved on to the others. I'm glad you posted a link to something comparable. Seems like a great deal as well considering the crossovers and tweeters by themselves total more than the package deal.

Not a fair comparison IMHO. The Morels are a much better set. The CDT HDs are pretty good and will give a little more midbass. I kinda prefer Morels, but either set is a good option in the ~$300 range.

Id prefer the Polk MM series to be honest for the $ spent. Lower end sound great and crisp highs as well. CDT HD Series are great as well. Hopefully you are doing some door preparations and adding an amplifier to have some power and cleaning things up? If not the Polk DB Series will work great on HU power

I have a Massive Audio NX5 amp and will be doing good prep work inside of the door as well as the under the door panel, the door panel and using some form of wave mat behind the speaker and fast rings or something similar. I plan to only take the doors apart 1 time and do it all at once.

Giving subs more power really wakes them up. The MRP-500 is pretty low power. You would really notice more authority in your bass.

I’m sure they will be a good budget setup. I think they will lack some midbass but door treatment is super important so definitely be sure to do...

I would face the port and sub back. Even if you got a soft top, the rear gate will serve as a loading wall. I looked at the specs for the 10w6v3...
