the 4000d will @ double the price. cant find any clamp or dyno tests for the amp that was released 6 years later, so i would have to disagree.im right on the dealer site and they use a trendy little word called "max" to describe their ratings
The manual inside says 4000 watts RMS @ .5 ohm 14v... Not sure how accurate that is. Says can handle up to 18v systems

i guess we can agree to disagree. The dd m4 does 3500x1 @12 volts with a 400amp fuse. the m3a is rated at 2050x1 @12 volts with a 250 amp fuse. im willing to bet you can get 2500 or more at 14 volts with that m3a. however this lanzar must be some sort of magical amp and the other vendors need to rework their boards considering lanzar has this amp that can do 4k on 250 amps. using logic will simply tell you that it is both mathematically and electronically impossible. even lanzar knows this and this is why the 4000d costs much more then 4001. I have seen the optidrive graveyard and its not pretty. he paid a good price for an amp that will do 2.5k to 3k just fine.

2.5 to 3k is more than I expected, honestly. But I think the minotaur puts out more than the fuse rating.

i would assume that the higher end of that is where peak or as the kids nowadays call it "dynamic burst" comes in to play.

im not knocking the amp and im 7 years removed from real world results. db drag is dead on the east coast. this forum is dead. termpro doesnt exist and it seems its just an archive site now.

im considering a m4a, but i need my head examined, i dont feel like spending all that money to compete for plastic trophys again.

but for what he paid for the amp, its a good deal when you consider what you will get from it

Roughly 2400 rms if the fuse rating is correct
Not saying you are wrong but fuse rating isn't everything. For example, look at most Brazilian amps and the zed minotaur amps. Both do rates power with small fuse ratings.
