[Q] How to configure stereo and amp volume

Hi.

I would like to know what is the best way to configure volume on stereo and amp.

My stereo is Sony MEX-BT3800, but, at the moment I can't remember amps Model.

On stereo I have subwoofer output and option for subwoofer volume. It has 21 steps:

-10 - - - - 0 - - - - +10

Do these steps mean

1. 0% - - - - 50% - - - - 100%

or

2. 0% - - - - 100% - - - - 200% .

So, at what level should it stay and start configuring volume on amp?

Or should I max out amps volume on 90-100% and adjust volume on stereo?

i'd do it at +5 so if you listen to rap or strong  bass music you can leave it at that. When you listen to rock or anything weaker you can put it up at +10.
