securing my sub - need help

I just put a single 12" in the trunk of my IS. The problem is that the box is longer than it is deep so it can tip if i slam on the gas.

what are good ways to secure the box? i don't want to bolt it down onto the trunk floor. any other ideas? i prefer a solution that allows me to move it if need be.

If you have scrap MDF you can wedge it between the trunk and the box tightly. It'll look like ****, but if you don't want to bolt it down it's the easiest option

Velcro? :) or cut some pyramid shaped wedges and put one at each end, they could be covered or painted to match the box if needed. i had to do this on a buddies buik a while back and it worked out well, so well in fact that we ended up screwing another board across the front with the angle of the wdges and installed 1 of the amps there....even though i never suggest mounting your amps on your sub box.....bad vibes AND easier for thievin ba#tards to get everything at once. IMO anyway....think of the wedges as "little feet" at each end of the box but on the side that faces out or where it would fall over. hope this helps and makes sense?

You could get a locking bracket on a hinge (so it can fold on itself) that is designed for a half ring piece of metal to fit through it and attach it to your trunk floor (like ones for sheds or a gate). Then secure the half ring piece of metal on your sub box, aligned with the hinge. Slid the locking hinge in place to the sub box half ring and insert a large pin through it secured with a snapping pin lock. Or just use a pad lock.

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage
