Shocks- Any suggestions?

the majority of my driving experience is rock crawling in modified jeeps/toyotas/custom vehicles and rough oilfield roads in heavy-ass loaded down work trucks...so i know how to rip shocks apart

out of the choices you gave, i've never used kyb so i can't say on them. i like monroe and gabriel and use them on crew trucks. they last longer than i expect them to in harsh off-road environments and are fairly cheap and redily availabel at local parts stores. i never personally used rancho either, but i stay away because so many people around here do i've heard tons of complaints about them. one recent experience: a friend of mine blew out 3 of 4 rancho shocks within a month. the place he bought them from warrantied them and gave him 3 more that have now held up for almost 3 months with no problems so far because he hasn't been driving his jeep much.

doestch tech and bilstein are my favorite shock manufacturers. going for crazy articulation(no bumpstops on axle drop limiting straps) i've used both brands as my suspnesion limiters and have never had a problem with them. i once ripped a bar pin off the frame upon full extension but the shock held up fine.

rancho blows

edelbrock shocks are the only one's worth the money

i ran rubicon express x-duty monotubes on the jeep and they were ok, but a little on the stiff side.

I like my Ranchos*last years models with the 10 different settings*havent had a single prob yet with them and i like to do alot of trail riding*96 jeep*

I hate Rancho too
why do you say that? i have ran all sorts of shock on different cars and i have liked them the best. i have had the ones on my truck for about two years now and they are awesome. just curious as to why that is your opinion?

what do you drive? do you go wheelin? i have a 4runner with procomp es9000's and i will never go back. i abuse the sh*t out of my truck off road and i cant seem to blow these shocks out. dont go rancho....they ****. i had them and my dad has a suburban with dual ranchos in front single in rear. im really sorry he didnt ask me before getting them.

i didnt like them in my truck because they cant handle the beating and blew out less than a month after getting them. my dads suburbann rides like a garbage truck now. i even took 1 pair off the front and it didnt make it better. the valving ***** on them.

rancho is ok . . never heard much from people who really offroaded it

bilstein is good but EXPENSIVE

pro comp es9000's frickin rock! i abused mine all the time before i got my life. rode GREAT

i ran fabtech shocks for a bit, they are the biggest pieces of ****, NEVER get ANYTHING from them

doetsch tech also makes good shocks

If you can find these in your area. Id recommend these for drop ins. They play from 40Htz on up. Sound very nice on amplified power for premium...
