To start off with i've got a 99 Dodge 1500 regular cab truck. I've been through various boxes with different results, all getting progressively louder. I started off with a 2 cube box tuned to 34 hz with a 3" aero port (137.8dB), then i went to a fiberglass box that was 2.4 cubes with 6" aero port tuned to 36hz (140.0 dB), both of which were behind the seats (at different times of course). Now i've got a 1.8 cube center console box with 38 sq.in. of port tuned to 34hz (141.6 dB). I'm really wanting to go with a box behind the seat again so i can get my center seat back, but i don't want to go down in dB's. I know it can be done, i just would like to know from you guys what a good box volume, port size, and tuning frequency would be good to play the lows without bottoming out and to be hitting up around 141-142, or even higher. And btw, my truck resonates at 40 hz.
The equipment i'm running for my sub stage is:
Fi 12" Bl D2
Powerbass 1500.1
2 batteries under the hood and a stinger sp1700 behind drivers seat
I can go up to about 2.2 cubes (.75 inch MDF for material).
If you need more information i can provide, but i believe i've covered everything.
Thank you.
