I am going to buy An Eclipse headunit for my next setup to change things up from my old pioneer deh-p8600mp. I am looking at the 8445, the CD5000 and the CD7000. I think the navigation features are a plus on the cd series, but the voltages are 5 volts instead of 8 volts. I want something with the best sound quality to run a system off as well as good features such as crossovers and alot of adjustments. If anyone has any experience with any of these decks just let me know what you think. Thanks alot!

I think for now I am going to be running the ctx series image dynamics 5.25" off my deck's amp because it will power them decently. Do you guys think the cd7000 is worth it and is the navigation helpful?? I will be mostly overseas so it would be cool if i could download maps onto it. I like the 8445 because of its 8V outputs but i wouldn't mind spending more on the 7000 if it is worth it.

The CD5000 has 8 volts if I recall. I have the CD7000 and a Rockford Fosgate RFX-8250 ("Denford") and I would really play with them before i do anything. The CD7000 is a little to New York Times Square for me, the CD5000 seems more to my liking (and similar to the older Eclipse unit you mentioned).

Also the pricing difference can be huge between this year and last years models.

voltage is overrated. simply used for level matching.

You actually have to go to the Eclipse website, login and download your route guidance there. So I'm not sure if it works overseas or not at this point.

Well, if you don't have to have brand new I would recommend the 8053 over any of the other Eclipse decks. Here is one from Ebay.

In order to answer your question, I would need to know what model (e.g. SW4200, SW7524DVC). Also, are you looking to make a ported box or sealed?
