Any reason I can't remove the plastic inside door if doing sound deadener?

OK I will yank it out then and spend a few hours getting all that goop off! I'm going to do a temporary door-mount with a pair of Polk dB651 I have from a previous car, to hold me over, but the later-term plan is to get a set of Q Logic kick panels and quality components. I drive 140 miles...

Any reason I can't remove the plastic inside door if doing sound deadener?

'05 Civic that I'm going to sound-deaden the doors, and do what I can about filling in the extra holes. I've heard a bunch of different reasons for the plastic. I assume that having the holes filled and the installation of sound-deadener will pretty much nullify any use the plastic had, yes?

Troubleshooting head unit line level output? (No rear sound)

Helps to have the back speakers actually plugged in under the rear shelf. What the hell is wrong with me. I don't even remember unplugging them.

Troubleshooting head unit line level output? (No rear sound)

I guess this could have gone under the "Installation Help" forum, I didn't catch it before. I found the manual online: Switching The Auxiliary Setting; Switching The Dimmer Setting; Adjusting The Brightness; Setting The Rear Output And Subwoofer Controller - Pioneer DEH-P5900IB Operation...

Troubleshooting head unit line level output? (No rear sound)

Installed a Pioneer DEH-P5900IB (few years old, all working when I pulled it) head unit into my '05 Civic that I had in the old Civic. I pulled an old JVC out of this '05 Civic, and all speakers were working. Connected the car adapter pigtail to the head unit pigtail on the new unit, and I'm...

How much stronger/harder does ~1000-1200 watts hit compared to 500-600?

I see. I guess I didn't know if there there was a point of diminishing return in watts versus going with more drivers.

You got it! DIYMA moved me to the Dumb question forum. LOL

How much stronger/harder does ~1000-1200 watts hit compared to 500-600?

**** me running. I should know better even though I typed it so many **** times. I have ^2 in my head from all the landscaping I've been doing lately LOL.

How much stronger/harder does ~1000-1200 watts hit compared to 500-600?

Can you fill me in? I only understand the math guideline which says that you get a 3dB increase in sound for every time you double the power. (At least how I understood it).

How much stronger/harder does ~1000-1200 watts hit compared to 500-600?

I know there are a ton of variables that we'd need to address with concrete exact measurements, but based on my preliminary measurements, I will certainly have enough space to do a single ported 12", and possibly maybe (I don't know) enough for two ported 12" depending on the sub (~4.5 ft^2...

How much stronger/harder does ~1000-1200 watts hit compared to 500-600?

Haven't gotten the chance to get back with you yet for my box. Was out of town last week, hurricane this week, trying to catch a break! Based on my quick calculation, it looks like I have ~4.5 ft^2 of internal space to play with though.

How much stronger/harder does ~1000-1200 watts hit compared to 500-600?

I'm sure it sounds like a stupid question, but here goes. I haven't personally been in vehicles with much more than 300-400 watts, if that, powering the sub(s). I'm asking this question in terms of quality components, not Best Buy items. How much "harder" or better sounding will a single...

    Need ~ 80w x 2 in the $200-$350 range

...and, thanks to the rest of you for the other options! I think that for now I'm going to roll with that JBL GTO I just bought for $100 until I can get a bit more educated on some things; or, if I just plain don't like it. I think it should at least be a good "hold me over" amp...
