I do love my 9887!

Just an fyi, the 9887 does not need a lot to run properly, it just has options for the imprint software which most people don't get along with Bluetooth for extra $$$. If your looking at the 9886 than just step up and get the 9887, otherwise look elsewhere.

Yup, you are correct. I guess I didn't read the part about the auxiliary cable. Op, you need to buy the ipod cable to get it to work on the 9887

Hit the preset button 5 or 6 I think. When you first put the ipod on the hu puts it on random and to get it out of that just hit the button till you can use it like your wanting.

If you messed it up too much and a lot of your settings are off from where you want them and you don't know how to fix them than think about doing a reset on the hu to bring it back to origonal settings. Ill give you a few pointers as far as general settings to try to help to get it to sound...

Alpine 9887 or the kenwood! If it were me I would get the alpine though. I think it has a warmer, smoother sound over the kenwood and the controls are alot easier, especially when driving.
