go to wal-mart and look on the back of the scosche wiring kits. there is a chart on the back that tells you what size wire you need depending on how many watts you are pushing and how far away from the battery the amps are.

are the speakers oval or are they perfect circles? if they are circles, then i probably can't help you.

sound's like an air leak, my box leaks out of the speaker terminal and sounds similar. maybe more glue on the inside?

are you sure they're round 6.5s? or are they 5X7 in ovals? if it's anything like the 626, you have to unscrew the two screws that hold the plastic side pocket thing on. then there is a metal bar that is screwed on from the back. this is a pain in the but. i didn't reattach when i was done...

the output voltage affects the gain(input sensitivity) setting on the amp. you adjust the amp to match/compensate for your ouput voltage on the H/U.
