12" Fi Car Audio Q vs 12" Stereo Integrity Mag D2(Comparo Pics)

wow, this got off topic..lol...BUT,

i have to agree with the sql guys. even using jim's concert example, as already pointed out, if that's the basis for sq, then skull shaking bass is indeed needed. at least at every concert i've been too. i agree sql is a term that is needed as there are woofers that sound good, but don't get loud, in relative comparison to woofers that get insanely loud, yet don't sound very good and then those subs, like the mag and Q, that do both very well.

but it's another argument just like which is better, mag or Q. they both are equally as good when comparing the overall picture, depending upon one's install. sql is a nice blanket term that covers all the bases. some will like it, others won't. neither is right or wrong, it's an opinion.

That Mag sure is "Beefier" than that L7. Too bad that L7 is "Better" than the mag.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

When I saw the mag in person, i was impressed, it was the fastest moving sub i've seen at 1100watts. Is the Q also a fast moving sub? Can it keep up with a double bass playing on a rock song?

why not play a 1000Hz tone through a sony xplod. it will move fast //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i'm just kidding, but if two subs are being pushed to the same excursion levels, and are playing the same frequency, obviously they'll be moving the same speed.

well when i played somethingon my SX then played something on the mag, i was more impressed with the mag(obviously). but the mag just seem more "faster" at playing notes. and i heard the mags are more effiecient...is this true with the Q?

sorry for the nublet questions

i thought you meant the cone visually seemed like it was moving fast //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if youre talking subjective quickness, in music, then yes, it is considered to be a very quick sub.

as for efficiency, and frequency response check out:

"fast moving sub"

What the hell are you talking about? dude, 40Hz is 40Hz, 30Hz is 30Hz its the same CYLCLES per SECOND. There is no such thing as "fast sub". if the piston is moving faster at the same frequency, its not the same frequency!!

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.

I do not see a problem with an addition of up to a 600 RMS Class D mono amplifier with 4 ga OFC wiring supply kit and be fine. It would be...
