Few years back I did 2 of the original 8" assassins in 1.2^2 @ 40Hz off 800watts and it was rather impressive for $50 subs. That was AA's spec box for them and it hit the lows rather well and had some decent interior flex/rattles.Man, I've really been wanting to play with some 8's but I just don't know about the low end from them. I guess it wouldn't be much worse than running my 12" sealed. Looks good so far.
Whoa....this is NOT true. A flare is very beneficial for numerous reasons.the flare on the end of an aero port compared to a straight round port is of the most minimal effect. yes with a flared aero the port will be longer to achieve the same tuning as a straight aero but by only the most minimal amount
yes indeed. a flare helps reduce port noise by allowing the air to pass through smoother. i understand that, but like i said using a round port is very efficient at moving air. The flare on the end adds easier air flow movement, yes, but is still just an added bonus to a cylindrical port.Whoa....this is NOT true. A flare is very beneficial for numerous reasons.

the flare is actually everything. its the trasition in and out of the port, not inside the port, that counts.
