Active vs Passive.

no sir, active is having each speaker using its own channel, rather than having a passive crossover, that distributes 100 or so watts to each speaker.

Active is ALOT more controlable, as well as control over the tuning. Your head unit must have an active xover, or you must get an active x over network.
