Amp wiring

so you hear hype about a 1 ohm or even .5 ohm system. but why does that crap matter? If your system is 2 ohms at 2000 watts or 1 ohm at 2000 watts, are they not the same? I'm curious because I'm deciding whether to buy the 2 ohm dual voice coil or 4 ohm dual voice coil version of the same subwoofer, and also how to wire it. Should I do a 1 ohm stable monoblock with 2 ohm coils both in parallel, giving the least impedance? or use a two channel amp, with each channel on a coil? or use the two channel amp brigded to the dual 4 ohm coils in parallel?

If the vehicle is really capable of supporting the current draw, then 2,000W is 2,000W. It looks different when we compare amplifier efficiency at different impedances. The short version of explaining this is the 2,000W at a lower impedance is going to require more current. You want to use a mono amplifier for that much power. They're designed to handle higher current than 2-channel amplifiers, and generally the efficiency should be higher. This means less power is wasted as heat. This "crap" matters because if you get it wrong you can end up with an electrical fire, in the worst case scenario.

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.

For clarity, why not example 2 ? Example 2 is 2 ohm...my speakers are 4 ohm and amp uses less RMS wattage with the bridged 4 ohm full range...
