Went down to a local shop in my area, who is probably the best and does good work. They are solomly Definite Audio Design (DAD). I'm looking at just putting a single KMH 15" in the back of my Chrysler 200.. Just because it would be the 'cheapest" rather than doing say 2 12"s or a couple 8's. Sure 2 12's would be better than 1 15, but im on a budget here.. Basically He can build me a custom box for that 15, the sub, the amp, the wire, and the LOC for around $750 out the door.. Doesn't sound to bad.. But I didn't catch what amp he wanted to sell me.. Its an Alpine that all I know, and it does 500 True RMS from what he says.. Thing in the KMH 15 is 500RMS and 1000Watt peak.. If I remember right I think he said the amp was arond 225? 250? Im not sure..

I know I can do better.. So im trying to find a good budget amp for around/under $200 if possible.. I just think that only getting a true 500 rms (max) out of an amp for 225-250, I can find a little more for a better price.. and not be using the full 500 from the amp, when im sure the sub can take a bit more than 500rms.

Few audio technix on eBay. The 400.1 & 800.1 that would be great for the cost of them.
Hmm, never even heard of that brand. Would the 400.1 be okay, I forgot to mention the 15 is Dual 4 Ohm.

I think the 400.1 might be little unpar but they are rated at 12V so expect a little more. You could look for a amp with good 2 ohm power output. How much power are you looking to get for your sub ?

I mean it's 500RMS/1000 Watt peak, I mean getting most of it would be nice! Since im looking at spending quite a bit i'd love for it to sound the best it can for what im getting.

If you didnt already buy the sub get a D2 ohm subwoofer. Then get the PPI black ice 650.1 650 rms at 1 ohm for $115.
They don't offer a D2 KMH 15 :/ i'd have to go up to the BD series for a d2 15, which would be 1000 rms/2000 max. But that woofer is probably in the 300's.. Or I could just go with a single 12.. I just don't know, car audio is stressing me out!

Ever thought about looking at subs other than DAD? Not saying they arent good subs..

I would do an OA 15 on the PPI 1000

Or if you want to run more power the SQ HDS3 15 on the PPI 1800.

OA 15 = $160 ( great subwoofers rated at 600rms but can take alot more.) Ive owned 2.

SQ 15 = $150 and rated at 1200rms. (Great company and I've owned ALOT of their products)
