Ok so I'm starting to look into what I wanna do for my next substage this summer. Car is a 2003 Ford Taurus, which has a pretty big trunk I don't have exact measurements right now but I think I could get 8-10 cubes out of it. What I'm looking for is some low end monsters either a multiple 15s or 12s set up. I plan on tuning low and porting it through the rear deck. My budget is ~$600-700 for subs. I'm going to get an amp after I've picked my subs but I'm thinking something around 3K. Right now I've been looking at TC LMS-Rs, SSA Icons (maybe Xcons), Tempest X2s or the Shivas.

If you ran three 12's you would. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I'm really liking the ICONs, what to do though 3 12's on 3k or 2 15's on 2k? I know the 15's have the cone area advantage but will the extra power make up for it? the cone area is relatively close though 1440cm^2 for 12's 1620cm^2 for the 15's. I need to take some exact measurments so I can figure out if I could maybe get 3 15's in...

I'd do the 12's to keep the box lower and allow better air flow into the cabin(assuming you're firing towards the rear).
that's kinda what I was figuring with a trunk car, when I actually decide to get started on this you'll be the first one I go to for a box design

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage
