Hi, this is actually soo i got 4 10's Mtx Thunder 8000's. There mofo's knock! But they are about 13 years old, I recently built a box and stuff and set em up since i had them laying around for so long. They lasted pretty long but on one of the subs the tensile lead broke.....how do i go about fixing this? I tryed to resoder it one time but it broke again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif someone please help if anyoney knows of a good way of fixing these! Thanks.

I just took some speaker wire stripped of about an inch or so soldered it to the lead then covered in heat shrink, but now it doesn't have terminals it's direct leads

They break right at the underside of the cone..It's like they are brittle or something.

post a pic of where it broke so we can help you better.

^ yes pix will help. as long as there is 3/8" out the backside of the cone i can fix. will need to run new lead wires. soldering broken leadwires will cause them to break again and maybe even pull out of the backside of the cone...

Sry i havent checked this in the past few days, but i will try and get sum pics of it up. iv tryed to fix this thing like 3 times already and it just keeps braking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage

Don't forget Hoffman's Iron Law. You can have 2 of the 3: low end, efficiency/sensitivity or small enclosure size...
