Tell me about DynAudio

Everything you just typed is false.
Wow... hats off to you for that amazing response.

Everything you have typed on this board has been you bragging and telling people your the ****.

I'm ready to give these Dyn's a try. Should've taken up the offer for dealer status a few years ago; perhaps soon. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Yeah you should have... not nearly enough delears out there with good car audio stuff. Esspecially up here in Canada //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Move down to the states? Preferably the NY/NJ area. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If I could I would... my qualifications wouldn't carry over with me just yet. Gettings stuff up here is a royal PITA!

In my city I have two dealers that are worth anything. One doesn't even do installs and they carry Alpine, Hertz, and kenwood (used to carry PG as well but ditched it for Hertz) and I think they had Planet Audio at one time.

Other dealer is awesome. But they even find it hard to get stuff here. They used to carry RE stuff but RE was giving the delears customers hassle on warranty and not honoring it... so he ditched them for DD and also carries Macrom and Memphis. Problem is no one here knows those names //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

But shipping stuff up there is a piece of cake. 'Gift' tends to work and on higher priced items 'warranty repair' seems to eleviate some of the costs to you as well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I unfortunately had the unpleasurable dealings with RE as their rep for the NorthEast for a couple months. VERY aggressive and did not care who bought the product or where it went afterwards. Warranty was a PITA as well.

I know Macrom quite well, covered them for the states for a bit, but they never really took off, wish they would have though.

Not everyone is willing to do that though and UPS still has there "brokerage" fee's that are redicoulous and no way to get around unless you do all the clearing paperwork yourself (which again is a PITA)

Yeah I like RE stuff but the stories i've been hearing from dealers is turning me off from them big time.

I am thinking of getting the Macrom M1's components. I also like there power and speaker cables... simple yet elegant. It's so hard to find any info on Macrom though other then there website and what my dealer tells me. Also only have Hertz at the other dealer to really compare to as I have to drive a long ways to demo anything else //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Any comparison? Or are my posts just totally invisible?
What posts? I see nothing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Tough call and I couldnt evenly compare them. Its an apples Vs oranges thing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I've always used USPS for Canada shipments. Usually much easier on the recipients pockets. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Not everyone is willing to ship USPS cause they think they don't provide tracking numbers (yet I have had plenty of USPS shipments with tracking numbers...). But yes the fees over the border can be quite a bit less with USPS (though I have had a few high ones! not like UPS though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif)

thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif What makes them so different? Is it that the dynaudio's are made to get as loud as the power line CS woofers, or something else? I thought just about everything could be compared, even if just enough to say "that beats the **** out of xyz so badly i don't know where to start" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

So... I've had the Dyn's installed for a while.... at first I was thinking...AARRRGGHHH!!! WTF!!!

So... I have played in home and car audio since I was 15, and I know most electronics and speakers need a break in period, and these do.

Let me tell you, these DynAudio's just keep sounding better the more they play. They will take all the power I can give them. They are clear, tight, snappy, quick, musical, smooth, ,,, they sound great!

My system; Alpine x100, Ipod Classic 160gig, AudioControl DQSX, Apine 2.150, 4.100, 1.600, (4) Dyn MW 162GT, (2) Dyn MD 102, (2) JL Audio 8W3v3 in a sealed enclosure.

I'm using the active xover in the DQSX to the 2.150 for the front mids, 4.100 for the rear mids and front tweets, and the 1.600 for the sub. I want to upgrade the 1.600 to a 1.1000, and the 4.100 to a 4.150 when I find them at a good price.

I might post pics too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Didn't read the thread, so this may have already been posted, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware.

This is directly from DynAudio's website

IMPORTANT NOTICE It has come to our attention that illegal counterfeit Dynaudio mobile loudspeaker products have been discovered. We urge customers to be aware of any Dynaudio product marketed on the internet or from unauthorized dealers in order to protect yourself from unscrupulous parties attempting to sell inferior counterfeits, especially online.

As always, we recommend that you purchase from an authorized Dynaudio dealer in order to ensure that you are acquiring an authentic Dynaudio loudspeaker product.

Dynaudio has already begun to take action against counterfeit products based on information obtained from information provided by customers as well as its own investigation. Any counterfeit product is an infringement upon Dynaudio's valuable intellectual properties and brand trademarks, but also cheats our valued customers, whose best interests we wish to protect. Please refer to the dealer locator for the nearest authorized Dynaudio retailer servicing your market.

In addition to ensuring that you will be receiving a genuine Dynaudio product, and not an illegal counterfeit, Dynaudio authorized dealers have experience, knowledge and understanding of the product which will ensure that you as the customer receives the proper product and installation for each and every application, and that the product will be installed to perform at optimum levels, while exhibiting the technical specifications and sound quality as guaranteed by an authentic Dynaudio product.

The new Dynaudio Esotec Automotive product range has already incorporated several visible and hidden safeguards to help fend off counterfeiters, but as always the best defense is to use judgment and know your source when considering any purchase.

Of course, only products sold through authorized Dynaudio dealers shall be covered under the manufacturer's warranty.

Theres a dynaudio dealer in edmonton

So, we all could read that these speakers need a sufficient amount of clean power, but to requests for examples of amps that will deliver this amount of clean power to the dyns, no replies so far. I am in persuit of a set of these speakers to listen to, and if they sounds good, and the price is right.............

But for then, I would like to know what kind of amps to look for, and how much per channel do you reckon they will need?

I saw someone dissing DLS and Audison, I though they would be good enough, especially the Audison, apparently not.

I had two of the Xtreme 12's and they were dual 4ohm. They read at like 3.5ohm per voice coil which is common.
