bigger sealed box= lower pwer
It will change the sound (response) and make it slightly "boomier", and power handling will decrease.

My 12" RL-p in a 2ft^3 tuned to 28Hz is really quite loud. Haven't metered it, maybe I will someday. And it gets so low it shakes my nuts.

Low frequency roll-off is greater in ported boxes. And for the original poster. The bass is supposed to stay in your ride.
