I need help choosing the right amplifier

I have 2 Sundown SA10v2 (1000w version) and just replaced my RF R1200 with a T-1500.1bd and OMG! I was considering Ampere Audio, JP23, Sundown SAZ-1500, SIA series…what sealed it for me was going to a brick and mortar store and negotiating a deal for the RF. It seriously woke up these subs (...

    New Install Suggestions

Are you using the Phoenix Gold to power the speakers? If so, did you set the gain properly? The gain knob is not a volume knob.

    Speakers ot what expected/not working

I've been having a similar issue...Crescendo Mezzos up front and sending maybe 75 watts to them. Not nearly loud enough, didn't sound good at all. I first tried with a 100w/ch DD Audio 4 channel. It had 1 broken ground shield on the 3rd ch input, so I thought maybe that was causing the lack...

    Best Amp for my setup

If you've never I installed an amp before then you'll be amazed and satisfied at just 50w/channel. If you consider an average head unit is only 12-15 watts, doubling the power will get you 3db increase then double it again for another 3db. You'll notice. Step it up to 100 and you should be...

    uv activated resin

Yep, I've used it and recommend it. You dont have to mix it and you can leave a cupful for days and it won't get hard as long as its not in UV. You can even pour it back in to container, although I wouldnt. Sets up quick in the sun.

    HELP crescendo cz 6.5

Why are you shouting!!? Seriously...you won't believe this but I have Crescendo Mezzos wired to a 100 watt per channel amp and have the same problem...not nearly loud as they should be and no mid range at all! I think I'm going to try a different speaker to see if I can narrow down the problem...

    2 tone carpet

Make another front baffle piece that can fit around the sub's when mounted, carpet or vinyl that piece the different color. Then carpet the box and make sure to carpet the front baffle too. Then you'll have no visible seams on the front and you can mount the custom colored piece right over top...

Enclosure question for Massive Hippo 84 in 1.1 cuft @ 35hz

Its such a small box, why not just build it and test? You're not gonna chase numbers with that so just build it and listen to it and then you judge whether it sounds good to you or not. If you dont like it, then change the design.

I was wondering when you would update this thread next. I like the work you've posted. I'm a fellow south jerseyan like you and there aren't many installers/companies around. Keep up the good work.

    Battery or not?

Don't forget about all the real advantages of the technology AGM has very low internal resistance, is capable to deliver high currents on demand and offers a relatively long service life, even when deep-cycled. AGM is maintenance free, provides good electrical reliability and is lighter than...

    Battery or not?

Since nothing has happened yet, no, you don't (yet!) Lets do the math. 1400 W at approx 85% efficiency (just guessing, the Alpine might be higher as it's Class D) = 1647 Watts at full tilt 1647 Watts / 13.9 volts = 118.5 Amps required to get you to full tilt at 110 amp alt, lets say there...

    DIY RCA Wire Type

Or you could just go to bluejeans cable and order up the length you want and ask for techflex colors. They stop the techflex short of the end, but you might be able to request them to bring it all the way. Or, put your own techflex on them. These folks have already done the work for you and...

    Setting gains with multiple devices

Why hasn't anyone mentioned just getting the right tools? Get yourself an SMD DD-1. This is the proper tool to set your gains using a consumer grade device (you could use an o-scope, too, but who has one of those?). You can set your gains from the headunit on down to each device.
