Get the tc! I had the skar and I have had similar drivers to the epic (tc1000, rl-i). The skar sounds decent, the tc sounds great!

So much fail in here. What the OP is doing is perfectly fine. You could run only one coil, and leave the other coil unpowered and the sub would be fine. Exact gain matching doesn't matter. The voice coils are pushing in the same direction not apart from one another.
